HOW LONG DOES A SPRAY TAN LAST?
If you’re thinking about getting a spray tan but not sure how long it will last, I’m going to explain some different factors that will affect the longevity of your tan.
A good quality spray tan solution will last 10-14 days.
Exfoliate really well leading up to your tanning appointment.
How dark you go also plays an important role. The darker the tan, the longer it appears to stay put.
Long hot showers, saunas, and spas, as well as swimming, can fade the tan almost instantly. Be sure to take quick showers in lukewarm water and pat dry afterwards.
Avoid using scrubs and soaps, and use a gentle body wash.
Moisturise every day, or even better, twice daily, to not only keep your tan looking fresh and long-lasting, but it will also fade better.
You can use a tan-enhancing lotion (available at the studio or online) to also extend the life of your tan.
When exercising, sweat and tight clothing can rub your tan away. I recommend moisturising well beforehand and even using some baby powder to reduce friction and absorb sweat.
And finally, drink plenty of water. Dehydrated skin will fade faster and become patchy.
