As a spray tanning artist with over 15 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of tanning women from all walks of life. In recent years, more and more women of colour have come to me curious about spray tanning, and many have since become my most loyal, glowing clients.
There are so many misconceptions about why women choose to tan. It’s not always about going darker. In fact, the majority of my clients opt for a subtle, radiant glow that:
Evens out skin tone and tan lines (think sock marks or sports bra lines)
Minimises the appearance of cellulite, stretch marks, and veins
Leaves them feeling healthier, fresher, and more confident
Spray Tanning Women of Colour: A Different Goal
For my clients with deeper skin tones, the focus isn’t about achieving darkness, it’s about enhancing what’s already there. Spray tanning can:

Another important factor? Skin health. While women of colour statistically have a lower risk of skin cancer, they face the highest rates of late-stage diagnosis. More women are becoming conscious of sun damage, and a sunless glow offers a safe, stunning alternative.
